The Wagga Wagga Evening branch approached Ashmont Public School to be involved as they have done previously, as other branches in the Riverina Group ask various other schools.
This year Ashmont school chose to do Powerpoint presentations and one student, 12-year-old Luke Stubbs won third place in the group.
The winners go to the competition to be judged at next year's State conference in Newcastle.
Recently Wagga Wagga Evening Branch international officer Jessie Grindrod presented Luke with his certificate and a gift at the school assembly.
The judge praised Luke's entry for his originality and his ability to research and present the information in his own words.
The judge was impressed with the variety of the presentations and also poster entries from the schools in Riverina Group area.
Last month the branch held its annual general meeting where Julie Morrison was re-elected president along with Bree Gardoll as secretary and Hilary Cohen as treasurer.
The next meeting will be held on November 27 at the ARCC Centre, Tarcutta Street, Wagga commencing at 7.30pm, after which the branch will be in recess until February 26, 2020.
In December, the branch will be catering for the Riverina Group Council meeting.
