Both played great golf, each scoring 25 points, with Max winning on a countback. Close behind were Tony Pollard and Tony Thompson on 24 points, then Bert Adams and Lex Boardman, 23, and finally Bob Alexander, Les Hodges and Eddie Wall each on 22 points.
There was another stableford event on Thursday, but on this occasion it was anything but a close contest. Eddie Wall blitzed the field, scoring an incredible 31 points for a three-point win from the unlucky Mick Tilden, 28, followed by Bob Moore, 27, Barry Longmore, 26, and Bill O'Rourke and Warren Lynch each on 25 points.
The ladies had their AGM last Tuesday, followed by a nine-hole stableford event, which went to Joan Veerhuis from Barb O'Donnell. A few more girls competed in Friday's stableford comp, and in Division 1, Una Pocock played well for 47 points for a win, from Lorraine Hickey, 45 points. Cae Cobby secured Division 2 with 44 points, from Val Brunskill 40 points, while the ball comp went to 38 points on a countback.
Members played another stableford event on Wednesday and it was Mick de Vries' turn to stand up, scoring 41 points to take home the A Grade voucher, with Bill Whalan runner-up on 40 points. In B Grade, Rex Kember claimed the main voucher, along with a handful of $5 notes from his mates, with 40 points, enough for a c/b win from John McLeod. NTPs to Bill Whalan and Peter McDonald. Ball comp to 38 points.
In Saturday's members' stableford, Richard Flanigan put together 40 points for a win in A Grade from Max Horsnell, 39 points. In B Grade, Peter Taylor fired up for 43 points and a clear win from Cloud Merrigan, 40 points, while Darryl Dickinson took care of C Grade, scoring 41 points for a one-point victory over Rod Whitlock. NTPs to Frank Veliscek, Ken McPherson and Mick Laurent. Ball comp to 37 points.
The business girls, (or Bee Gees, as they like to be called) also played a stableford event on Saturday, and it was Kylie Baker's turn to collect when she carded 41 points for a good win from club stalwart, Jenny Myers, 39 points.
The week ended with Tim's Sunday stableford event, in which Tony Martin came back to form with a solid 45 points and a clear win from Dave Weeden, 41, and Rick Leonard, Ken McPherson and Lex Boardman, each with 38 points.

ULYSSES CLUB
What a great day it was last Wednesday: bright clear skies and not a lot of traffic on the road.
Four of us, Don, Pat, Bill Moncrief and Oscar left Busy Bean Central at about 9.12am and navigated our way over to Coolamon and then up to Ardlethan, where we stopped for a brief reassessment of our comfort zone.
We continued on to Barellan, passing through a couple of old villages that are now no more than a signpost. From Barellan, the next target was the Honda dealer in Griffith where Oscar had some minor repairs attended to on his Can Am Spyder. While that was taking place we meandered over to Bertoldos Bakery and had a very pleasant lunch, washed down with the obligatory cup of coffee.
Lunch over, we retrieved Oscar's Can Am and took the road home through Darlington Point, stopping off at Wadi for fuel. Next stop was Gillenbah where we regrouped, had an ice cream and rode on home down the Sturt Highway. Another great day out in the sun.
Meet and Greet was well attended on Saturday but I didn't make it as we were at the Wollundry Markets, waving the flag for the 2019 Toy Run. The morning at the markets was a little disappointing as there didn't seem to be many people around, however we did manage to sell a few raffle tickets and some badges, so all was not lost.
Also on the weekend, the Wagga Classic Motorcycle Club ran a two-day rally. On the Saturday morning, they had a bike display at Apex Park in Lake Albert with around 80 odd bikes on display. There were some magnificent machines there lovingly restored and polished by their owners, among them were four old Indian Chiefs who went on the short ride at about 10am. Luckily for them, the back-up trailers carried some fuel for an occasian that might arise. And it did. The poor old Indians were flat out doing 100ks on what fuel they carried. Very thirsty old machines, and I am told that at the end of the day so were the owners.
The WCMC rally over the weekend was very successful with a very good turnout of members, most local but many from out of town.
