Mumford missed GWS's shock loss to Hawthorn at the MCG because of a knee injury, while Whitfield hasn't played since copping a bad knock to the hip in the Sydney derby on April 27.
Giants coach Leon Cameron, speaking before the club's closed training session, admitted the imposing ruckman and running machine are both likely to face the Blues.
Veteran Brett Deledio, who hasn't played since round two because of the latest in a series of calf injuries, is also in the mix to play this weekend.
"We could have picked him (Deledio) last week, but we thought we'd give him another week," Cameron said.
"He's going to put up his hand and we're seriously considering playing him in the ones.
"He's in really good shape."
