The Riverina district was well represented and all shot well.
In the lead up match held on Wednesday and Thursday Warwick Sides finished in third place in FB, and Darren Bradley third place in FTR.
Then Friday was the start of three days of shooting for the Queen's Prize. Laura Brindley shot very well and finished fourth in Target Rifle B Grade.
Brendon Crowe had a great shoot and finished second.
Scott managed a very consistent shoot and was surprised to learn from Laura and Emma that he had come second in Target Rifle A grade, dropping just two points.
The conditions for the Queen's at least was some of the best seen at the Wellsford Range.
Day two particularly and that could be seen in the results with 16 shooters in A grade all getting triple possibles for the day. However as usual the final 1000 Yard stage on day three was difficult with the wind switching around and different strengths all down the range - very difficult to read and make good corrections.
The results overall for Riverina shooters was very good. Ben Goodwin and Graham Crowe shot very well against some tough competition.

LAST week's ride on Wednesday was called "I have no Idea".
Oscar, Woody, Doug, Les, Mark, Gerhard and Gino all departed, in dribs and drabs, from Billy's at around 9.10am with Woody being nominated as the ride leader. Well, that was the theory.
From then on it was anyone's guess and Woody was to take them to Boree Creek then Narrandera and over to Leeton for lunch. But by the time they had all regrouped had the Silverlite Woody seemed to have forgotten he was ride leader and was pushing the job onto Oscar. Finally he got the message and off they went only for him to lead the pack down the Lockhart Road and when they got to within a whisker of Lockhart he found a road that led to Boree Creek and was found propped outside the Boree Creek Hotel some time later?
During all this kerfuffle Gerhard had had an electrical fault with his Beemer so he crept back home to Ladysmith. In the meantime the others arrived at Boree Creek and the ride then continued on to Narrandera and they finally rode on to Leeton for Lunch at the Leeton Hotel. Lunch at the Leeton Hotel is always a pleasant affair and when that was dispensed with the happy crew travelled back to Wagga by way of Narrandera, Grong Grong, Ganmain and Coolamon.
A very mixed up day with no one really knowing where they were going except to say they would all end up back home at some stage. Keep 'em guessing I say.
On Saturday morning we all congregated at the Commercial Club for 'Meet and Greet' owing to the fact that Billy's was closed for Easter and this coming Saturday will be Annette's final day behind the counter so all turn up and we will give her a rousing send off. The following Saturday Kylie Bean takes over to cater for all of our needs, let's see if she can keep up the good work.
On Sunday a fair swag of our mob went over to Narrandera to check out the old vintage and hot-rod cars on display. It is always a good show and this year was no different. At our last Branch meeting the Committee was returned to office with ride committee being Ian Adams, Roger Self and Gerhard Grauer so I will give them a rev to sort out our next few rides.
The next being May 5 leaving from McDonald's car park in Edward Street at 9am.
The applications for the 2019 Toy Run Have been lodged and most of our various venues are locked in place.
That's about it for the moment so will see you next week.
WAGGA CITY GOLF CLUB
IT WAS a tight contest, but in the end, the highlight of the week had to go to in-form three-marker, Mick Hazell, who put together a sensational five-under par round of 67, for 44 stableford points and an easy win in Saturday's Members' Stableford A Grade event.
Mick just pipped playing partner, Peter 'Why-Wasn't-My-Name-In-The-Paper-Last Week' Barnes, who thought the title should have gone to him for his chip-in on the final hole to complete a terrific round of 38 points for second place in B Grade.
The unlucky Peter Treharne was runner-up to Mick in A Grade with 41 points, from Ray Bell, 40 points.
In B Grade, Peter McDonald rained on Barney's parade, also with 41 points, while Col Moore took third place with 38 pts. Eddie Wall ran hot with 42 points for a solid win in C Grade, from Peter Fulmer 39, and 'Comeback King', Alan French, 38 points.
NTPs went to Matt Tooze, Col Smith and John Mooney. Ball comp to 35 points on a countback.
The ladies played the first round of the Golf NSW Medal last Tuesday, and in Division 1, Maria McManus maintained her good recent form with an 85 off the stick and a nett score of 70, followed by June Byrnes, 73 nett.
Sue Oakman also carded 73 nett to win Division 2 on a countback from Carmel Pearce, while in Division 3, Fay Baker kept the 73 nett scores going for a win from Vi Gardner, 75 nett on a countback. NTPs went to Maria McManus (Div 1), Sue Oakman (Div 2) and Marg Bradley (Div 3). Ball comp to 77 nett on a countback.
In Vets news, Peter Biscaya got home in a close one last Monday, scoring 34 nett for a c/b win from Les Hodges, Charlie Down, Peter Kirkman and Max Robinson. Vouchers to 36 nett.
Shot of the Day went to Terry Baker, who somehow clipped the perfect pitch shot off a dusty lie adjacent to the third green, over a high grassy mound, a couple of bounces and straight into the hole. Thursday saw Barry Longmore fire up with a score of 31 nett for an easy win from John Burkinshaw, Peter Kirkman and Grahame Winson, each on 35 nett. Vouchers to 37 nett on a countback.
Wednesday's members' stableford comp saw Billy Whalan score 38 points for a win in A Grade, from the previously-mentioned short game guru, Peter Barnes 37, and Mick Hazell, 35 points. In B Grade, Zac Nimmo ran hot for 41 points for success, from Rod Whitlock 38, and John Mitchell 36 points. NTPs to Mick Hazell on the 9th and 13th, and Grahame Winson on the 18th. Ball comp to 33 on countback.
A good week of golf, highlighted by Mick Hazell's 67 off the stick and Peter Barnes amazing chip-in on the 18th hole last Saturday, wound up with Tim Barlow's nine-hole Sunday Stableford, which went to Cloud Merrigan with 20 points, on a countback from Kyle Harrison. Ball comp to 19 points on a countback.
