The controversial billionaire used his 65th birthday to take a mild swipe at aging politicians, and those who cling to power term after term after term.
"One of the problems in Australia is we have people in parliament for 20 or 30 or 40 years," Mr Palmer told reporters in Brisbane.
"We should limit the terms to two terms, I think, to allow other citizens to participate."
He also thinks Australian politicians should have to retire at 70.
Bob Katter would be 78 years old when he reaches the end of this political term, said Mr Palmer, by way of example.
"78, 80, 90 is just too old, " Mr Palmer said.
