“The new multi-functional laboratory includes wet and dry laboratory areas, microscopy rooms, genetics and environmental DNA facilities, a temperature-controlled aquaria tank room and sample processing facilities,” Ms Cooke said.
Needless to say, fisheries staff are highly excited by the possibilities of their new lab facilities.

NARRANDERA is proud of its tree-lined streets and members of council and residents expressed concern when trees had to be removed due to age, infestation and the like. To overcome the problem, a bundled priority tree program was developed by Narrandera Shire Council.
So far this season, 169 of 184 trees have been planted throughout the shire. Mass tree plantings have occurred in Marie Bashir Park (60), along the Irrigation Way town entrance (20), Red Hill Industrial Estate (40) and in the vicinity of the racquet at Barellan (6).
Safety of streetscapes, parkland and private gardens has been high on the list of considerations in executing the council’s plan, but we’ll accept all of the other benefits which come with beautiful trees enhancing our small town environment.
