AND another Wednesday goes down in the annuls of history as wet and miserable. However, Les Smith aka “The Lone Ranger”, took off on his own and did a trip around the district testing his bike and his ability to brave the elements. The rest just went home and turned on the elements to heat the water for more coffee.
Saturday Meet and Greet only drew five from the list but then most would have been heading off to Tumut for the Christmas Party. Twenty five bods went up to Tumut and by all reports the meal at The Royal was fantastic. Everyone had a wonderful time. The next morning twenty went down to the Riverside Coffee Bar, near the racecourse, for breakfast, and once again the spread on offer was top notch.
This Saturday (December 1) is the day for the 2018 Toy Run. The committee have been working hard and have just purchased another lot of toys for the cause which amounted to about $8000 with more to come this week. The Toy Run starts at the Jubilee Park Car Park at 9am and finishes at the Civic Centre complex at about 12.15pm. If riders get up to Jubilee Car Park a bit earlier, say 8am, the Scouts will be there cooking up a storm on the barbecue for breakfast. On offer will be bacon and egg rolls, tea and coffee, all for a nominal fee. On the way around the run we will all stop off at Apex Park for morning tea which will be provided by the scouts for a gold coin donation. During the run all corners will be marked so you should not get lost and please make sure you have ample fuel on board. The run is over a distance of 90 kilometres and we don’t want you stranded in no-man’s land.
