ULYSSES
YOU wouldn’t read about it, three Wednesdays in a row and the weather is lousy with the days around just perfect.
However four riders braved the forecast last week and took a squirt across to Gundagai through Wantabadgery and Nangus and came back home down the highway.
As it turned out the day remained relatively dry.
Saturday was a great day and quite a few turned up for Meet and Greet.
I couldn’t make it as the Toy Run Committee had their official launch on the concourse in front of the Council Chambers.
The numbers were a bit disappointing but as we found out later there were more functions happening in and around Wagga than ever before.
Mr Chris Moore from GEO (Junee Jail) presented us with their sponsorship cheque and Mr Peter Braneley from Ron Crouch Transport handed over their cheque.
Both GEO and Ron Crouch Transport have been loyal supporters of the Toy Run over the past seven or eight years.
The launch marks the start of the toy run fundraising prior to the run which will be on Saturday, December 1.
Jackie Starr is on the bandwagon this coming Sunday (October 21) with the annual Pink Ribbon Ride.
It will leave from McDonalds car park in Edward Street at the usual time of 9am and the convoy will motor over to Lake Centenary in Temora.
Each person is expected to pay $10 which will give you morning tea and a chance to win one of many raffle prizes.
All profits from the day go toward breast cancer research.
Don’t forget to get you application in for the Mornington Rally by November 9 if you wish to purchase any of the rally merchandise.
See you on the road.
