Ulysses
WE HAD a good ride last Wednesday after much deliberation on a destination and finally got away at 9.20am, and that is where I became lost in cyberspace.
I was last to get away and all I heard was the fact we were going to Ardlethan via Coolamon and then Temora for lunch.
Somehow I lost the bunch, or they lost me, so I just motored over to Temora and waited.
Sure enough they eventually turned up and we all retired to the “Terminus Hotel” for lunch.
Very pleasant out the back in the beer garden in the sun.
After lunch we journeyed over to Cootamundra, by way of Stockinbingal, filled up the fuel tanks and journeyed home through Bethungra and Junee.
Meet and Greet on Saturday was not well attended with only seven braving the bitterly cold morning. It was colder than mother-in-law’s breath.
This Sunday, October 7 will see a ride off from McDonalds car park in Edward Street at 9am.
I have no idea where the day will take us as all that is written in the ride calendar is TBA, so my advice to you is turn up at about 8.30am and take a vote on a destination. A bit slack.
The Toy Run Launch will be held out in front of the Council Chambers on Saturday, October 13 from 9am until about 12:30pm.
It will be held in front of the library, in Baylis Street, with a sausage sizzle and raffle under way and at 11am the major sponsors will be presenting their cheques to get us under way for the 2018 run.
Come along and support the Toy Run crew in a fun morning.
On November 24 the annual Christmas party will be held at the Royal Hotel in Tumut.
Mark the day on your calendar and book some accommodation for the night in Tumut, the trick is to get in early.
It is probably getting near the point in time that you need to register for the Rally in Mornington (Vic) which starts on February 25 and runs until March 3, next year.
What with all the activity going on between now and Christmas it is something to be easily overlooked and January is not a good month to do any business at all. So get to it, it will be a colossal event.
As with anything to do with the Ulysses Club you can get on line and sort most things out www.ulyssesclub.org or give them a call on 1300 134 123. Our local secretary, Mary Smith, can also steer you in the right direction if you call her on 0413 586 196. Happy riding in this beautiful weather we are starting to experience, and this weekend we get another hour to fit it all in!
