They rode up the Olympic Way to Junee then Cootamundra, Wallendbeen, and Harden to land in Boorowa in time for Brunch at the Boorowa Bakery which is always a good spot for refreshments.
After the usual recharge of the belly tank and then the fuel tank the next phase was to go through Young across to Temora where they had short stop before heading back home to Wagga.
Saturday saw a good turn out for Meet and greet at Billy’s on a nice sunny day and on Sunday a few ventured out on a beautiful sunny day although it was a bit chilly towards the end.
It was not a scheduled ride day but it was a day too good to miss.
A few of our crew went down to Winton for the weekend to enjoy the ASBK Superbikes and by all accounts it was a great weekend.
Troy Herfoss took out the series for 2018 with Wayne Maxwell 2nd and Troy Bayliss 3rd. We have just received a newsletter from Natcom advising that registration for the 2019 Rally in Mornington is now available. To access the online portal log in to http:/agm2019.ulyssesclub.org. This will take you to the sign in page which will direct you to the National Rally tab. To do all this you will need your password and if you have forgotten that give the National Administration office a call and they will set you straight. Sounds complicated but it really isn’t.
There is a bit coming up between now and Christmas and we will keep you posted as they loom near. The 2018 Toy Run is probably the most important. The Wagga Classic Motorcycle Club has come to the party and donated badges for this year and we will be able to sell them to you for a bargain basement price of only $2 each.
The next Branch meeting will be on the third Tuesday, September 18 at the Radio Club Rooms in Small Street. Doors open at 7pm. WAGGA CITY GOLF CLUB
POPULAR 94-year-old war veteran, Burt Adams, made it look all too easy in last Thursday's Vets nine-hole stableford event. Burt drove his ball onto the green on the par three second hole, then, calling on his 85 years plus of golfing experience, calmly sunk the five metre put for a birdie.
Burt joined Les Hodges, Barry Longmore, Keith Withers and Don Kirwan on 19 points, well behind comp winner, Eddie Wall, 22 pts. Monday's Vets was in the form of a two person ambrose, which went to the team of Tony Thompson and Bob Alexander with 31 3/4 nett, from Kerry Smith and Mick de Vries 32, and Don Thorne and Don Kirwan 33 nett.
The ladies played their September Monthly Medal last Tuesday, and it was well done to medal winners, Pam Seymour (Div 1) and Sue Oakman (Div 2). Scratch winner in Div 1 was June Byrnes, who shot 94 off the stick, while the best nett score went to Cassie Gill with 73. In Div 2, Lyn Donohoe took out the scratch prize with 100, while the Div 2 handicap went to Sally Davidson with 72 nett.
In Div 3, Vi Gardner scored 101 for the scratch voucher, while Lorraine McGowan claimed handicap honours with 71 nett c/b. NTPs went to Jan Marks (Div 1), Pam Seymour (Div 2) and Lilian Sutherland (Div 3).

The girls returned for an Open Division Par Event on Friday, which was won by Una Pocock with a solid score of +3, on a c/b from June Byrnes, also on a c/b. NTP to Joan Veerhuis.
Members played a stableford event last Wednesday, when Luke Tooze extended his remarkable run of wins by taking out A Grade with 37 points on a three-way c/b from Kyle Harrison and Bob McKenzie.
Another in-form golfer, Kerry Smith, won the B Grade event with 39 points, also on a c/b, from Eddie Wall and Peter Friedlieb. NTP's to Eddie Wall, Mick de Vries and Brian Smith. Ball comp to 35 points on a c/b.
The boys returned for another stableford event on Saturday, and in A Grade, it was Trevor Graham's turn to collect when he posted 38 points to win on a c/b from Jeremy Whalan, with Andrew White third with 36 points.
In B Grade, John McLeod played well for 39 points, to beat Shane McPherson 38, and Rob Nicoll 37 points. Bob Warhurst claimed C Grade honours with 39 points, from Peter Fulmer 37, and Grahame Coulton 35points. NTP's to Eddie Wall, Ray Bell and Roman Adamcewicz. Balls to 33 points c/b.
The week wound up with Tim's Sunday nine-hole stableford comp, which went to Ray Harrison with 22 points on a c/b from Steve and Sam Rodham. Ball comp to 20 points.
Rules Men’s Bowls
THE monthly Settlers Group two bowl Blind Draw Triples Triples saw Graham Rossiter, Alan Jacobson, Bill Creasy claim first prizemoney of $210 with three wins plus 29 shots up; 2nd prizemoney of $120 went to Ross McKenzie, Bernie Benson, Charlie Ryan three wins plus 22 shots; 3rd prizemoney of $90 was won by Max Sanbrook, John Ashcroft, Jim Davis with three wins plus 19 shots.
Best game winners prizemoney of $60 were: Game 1 Peter Dewhirst, Rod Cramp, Peter Wild plus 15; Game 2: Andrew Carey, Mick Foxall, Robbie Nolan plus nine shots; Game 3: John Swaffield, Terrry Rosewall, Kevin Wales plus 13.
This week’s Wednesday competition was sponsored by Harvey Mowers and Chainsaws.
Winners were Chris Leonard, Bernie Leitch, Peter Hoskins 25 points; runners up Bernie Benson, Mick Foxall, Norm King 21 points; 3rd place Geoff Rainbird, Kevin Wales 19 points; 4th place John Hetherington, Jack Cousley, Bob Linnett 17 points.

Tennis
THE Wednesday Junior Doubles Tennis Competition continues today at the Bolton Park Tennis Complex. The competition is open to all players that are able to serve. To enter turn up at the courts before the start time of 4pm finish at 6pm sharp. Sportsmans Warehouse Giftcards awarded at the end of the competition for those players playing five matches as well as a Best and Fairest award.
Leading the competition is Pat Wright on 29½ points with Alastair Wright on 28 points then Makenna Irlam on 19 points with Michael Paolucci-Ellis on 17 ½ points and Lucy Goodyer on 15 ½ points making up the top five positions. This week’s McDonalds Sports Award went to Holly Versteeg and Michael Paolucci-Ellis.
The Saturday Singles competition is for players wanting more serious tournament play, with proper tie-breaker sets being played.
There is prizemoney for the top twenty players in the competition for all players having played five matches, as well as a best and fairest award at the end of the competition. To take part, just turn up at the start time of 3pm until 5pm.
Leading the Singles competition after the first week is Caden Maxwell on 5 points then Oliver Plum, Pat Wright and Alastair Wright all tied on 3 ½ points with Robert Grantham on 2½ points making up the top 5 positions.
This week’s Singles winners of the McDonalds Sports Award were Caden Maxwell and Tory Grantham.

On Friday we held the Championship Prelude Pairs which was a handicap event scored across the field. Congratulations to our winning pair Helen Mullins and Anne McDonald who blitzed the rest of the field with an outright win EW and the handicap victory when they beat their handicap by a massive 18.2%.
