One of the most poignant and important winter events in Albury is Winter Solstice.

An annual community event happening this year at QEII Square from 5pm on Thursday, June 21, Winter Solstice aims to raise awareness about the silent issue of suicide.

There will be plenty of hot food and drinks to keep people warm as they hear from guest speakers including Samuel Johnson from Love Your Sister, former footballer Ian Roberts, journalist Tim Elliot and MC David Astle.

There will also be musical entertainment from folk bandThe Northern Folk and piano group the Solstice Trio as well as a performance from James Fallon High School Wiradjuri Dance Troupe.

A new attraction in Albury is the city’s first brewery, Albury Brewhouse on Dean Street, which opened in March this year.

Visitors to the Brewhouse are spoiled for choice with a range of six craft beers brewed on site by head brewer Banjo Hillier, as well as other varieties on tap and in bottles.

The team at the Brewhouse can even help you pair your brew with items from the modern pub cuisine menu including share plates, mains and desserts.
