On Tuesday, the ladies played a 4BBB par event in conjunction with the Keno qualifying, Cassie Gill and Janelle Doust were the winners on a countback, scoring +8 from Loraine McGowan and Therese Quinn.

A cold, wettish Wednesday made the golf course the winner. Peter Lyons was the only person to break their handicap, winning the comp with 37 points from the consistent Andy White, 36, and Max Horsnell, 35. Ball comp went to 33 points and Brian Smith, Mike Laurent, John Burkinshaw were NTP winners Robert Hodge won the Thursday vets, 32 nett, from Lenny Jenkins 35. Ladies played a single stableford on Friday.

On Saturday, the men played a single Stableford. Big hitting Steve Hall won A Grade on a count back, scoring 35 points – even though his shot off the 1st tee only went 4 metres in front of him. Steve was proud of how straight it was. Adrian George was the runner-up.

B Grade honours belonged to Steve Rodham, 35 points, on a countback from John Hazell.

Rowan Laurent took out C Grade, scoring 37 points, from new member Brad Sainsbury, 36. Ball comp went down to all 32s. NTPs were won by Adrian George, John Dare and Tony Landrigan.

The Saturday business girls played their monthly medal round. Jenny Myers was the victor with nett 73 from Joan Reeves, nett 74. Ball run dawn went to 78 nett and Cheryl McKee won the NTP. The Sunday 9 hole comp was won by big Barry Miller, who beat Peter McDonald on a countback with 21 points. Balls went to 19 points.

Today is presentation day of the Wednesday Junior Doubles Tennis Competition at the Bolton Park Tennis Complex.

Presentations will take place after the competition. In the event of wet weather, presentations will take place at the start time of 4pm.

A new competition will commence July 25. The competition is open to all players that are able to serve.

To enter, turn up at the courts before the start time of 4pm finish at 6pm sharp.

Sportsmans Warehouse gift cards are awarded at the end of the competition for those players playing five matches as well as a best and fairest award.

Leading the competition are brothers Pat Wright and Alastair Wright tied on 46 ½ points close behind Makenna Irlam on 42 points.  Michael Ellis, on 34 points, and Riley Wilson, 31 points, make up the top five positions. Last week’s winner of the McDonalds Sports award was Lucy Goodyer.

Saturday was the finals of the junior tennis competitions at the Forest Hill courts.  A new competition will start July 28.

The masters competition is for players wanting more serious tournament play, with proper tie-breaker sets being played. There is prizemoney for the top 20 players in the competition for all players having played five matches, as well as a best and fairest award at the end of the competition. To take part, just turn up at the start time of 3pm until 5pm.    

Winner of the masters competition is Oliver Plum on 54 points; second was Caden Maxwell on 29 points, then Robert Grantham on 17½ points with Lachlan McDonald on 14 points and Pat Wright on 12½ points making up the top five.

The junior tennis competition is open to all juniors wanting to play tennis in a friendly relaxed format. All players should be able to serve to take part. There will be trophies to all players having played at least five matches. As well there is a special best and fairest award presented at the end of the competition. This competition starts at 3pm to 5pm.

Winning the junior tournament was Alastair Wright on 30 points second was Tory Grantham on 23½ points, then Yassin El Sanabary on 9½ points.

Best and fairest awards went to masters Oliver Plum and junior competition tied Alastair Wright and Tory Grantham.

The club hosted yet another successful weekend of shooting out at its range, with 15 shooters for shotgun on Saturday and 13 for Centrefire field rifle and lever action.

In shotgun, Aiden Lynch returned to show he's still got it, breaking 46 out of 50 clays to win. Hot on his heels were Adam Browne and Mat Colvin who tied for second with 43.

On Sunday, in Centrefire field rifle (offhand), Rob Baird shot a score of 360.01 out of a possible 400 to win. Brett Tenison came second with an impressive 351.02. Josh Arundell claimed third on 351.01, just 0.1 behind Brett. Very nice shooting all round.
