Riverina Travelling Bowls
WOW! How about the response to the Henty Community Club event last weekend Sunday, May 27. What a success that day and the event, bringing the folks and bowlers from Henty to greet the Riverina Travelling Bowlers Inc.
Mick Brougham co-ordinated and represented the president on the day. This made us welcome and was a great support to the success of the day, which included two games of bowls and lunch, prepared by the volunteer Lady Bowlers headed by Alison Schwartz, well done to you and your valued help and contribution. Greens were a picture and on the fast side and everyone was amazed at how well they preformed.
We can only appreciate the efforts and dedication of Bruce Diffey for his labour of love as the greenkeeper. At the welcome we could see the wonderful touch as the tables were beautifully presented, encouraged us to look forward to an exciting day of bowls and spirited friendships. The venue was supported by the welcoming faces of the local club members, all attired to play their best bowls.
The atmosphere was of anticipation to enjoy one and others company, while the event organisers teamed the players for battle and friendly competition on the green. Players representing Riverina Travelling Bowlers came from Gundagai Tarcutta Wagga RSL and Wagga Rules Clubs Yerong Creek Bowling Clubs, joined with Henty Community Club, 41 in the morning enjoyed the bowls and adding to the numbers and after lunch another five bowlers attended the event, totalling 46 for the day.
