Congratulations to Darren Conroy and his 10-year-old son, Harrison, (in only his second year of bowls) on scoring an eight-pin in the State President Pairs second round match against a Yerong Creek team.
Nomination sheet on Board for the 12th Annual Duffy Bros Fruit & Veg Mixed Pairs Tournament on Monday, May 21 and Tuesday, May 22 with prizemoney of $ 1200; three games of 14 ends each day with 9am start.

SSAA Wagga
OUR ever growing group of shotgun shooters continues to get bigger and better every month, with 20 shooters showing up to break some clays. Brad Kidd proved to be unbeatable on the day with a score of 47 out of 50. He was followed by Josh Duck and Adam Browne who both shot 42.
On Sunday we had 10 shooters for Military, including a couple of first timers who absoultely loved it. Dave Wade shot an incredible 191 out of 200 to win, followed by Greg Hannon on 182.2 and Terry Robinson on 178. Next Saturday we have Black Powder on from 1.30pm and on Sunday we have Centerfire 200yd score from 10am.

TODAY’S Wednesday Junior Doubles Tennis Competition at the Bolton Park Tennis Complex is the last before the school holidays. The competition will resume after the holidays on May 2.
The competition is open to all players that are able to serve. To enter turn up at the courts before the start time of 4pm finish at 6pm sharp. Sportsmans Warehouse Giftcards awarded at the end of the competition as well as a Best and Fairest award.
Leading the competition is Pat Wright on 36½ points with Makenna Irlam on 29 points then Riley Wilson on 24½ points close behind Lachlan McDonald on 24 point with Alastair Wright on 19½ points making up the top five positions.
Last week’s winners of the McDonalds Sports Award were Alastair and Pat Wright.
Due to the school holidays there is no tennis in the Saturday junior tennis competitions at Forest Hill courts. Competitions will resume May 5 at the normal times.
The masters competition is for players wanting more serious tournament play, with proper tie-breaker sets being played. There is prizemoney for the top twenty players in the competition for all players having played five matches, as well as a best and fairest award at the end of the competition. To take part, just turn up at the start time of 3pm until 5pm.
Leading the masters competition is Oliver Plum on 34 points, then Robert Grantham on 14½ points close behind Pat Wright on 12½ points with Caden Maxwell on 11 points than Lachlan McDonald on 8 points making up the top five positions.
The junior tennis competition is open to all juniors wanting to play tennis in a friendly relaxed format, and is their first steps to playing competition. All players should be able to serve to take part. There will be trophies to all players having played at least five matches. As well there is a special best and fairest award presented at the end of the competition. This competition starts at 3pm to 5pm.
Leading the junior tournament is Tory Grantham on 18½ points close behind Alastair Wright on 16½ points then Yassin El Sanabary on 7½ points.
This week’s McDonalds Sports Award winners were Masters Lachlan McDonald and Junior Tournament Tory Grantham.

Riverina Travelling Bowls
OUR sights are set on Yerong Creek Bowling Club, our next mixed event scheduled for Sunday, April 22 for a 10am start.
Riverina Travelling Bowlers Inc are invited and, Paul and Sally Flynn, Paul the president of Yerong Creek Bowling Club, welcomes the challenge to provide a great day out. Hopefully experiencing great Autumn weather on this occasion although rain would be appreciated by the local farming community.
Preparations are well advanced to stage an enjoyable day – playing two games of 12 ends – one before lunch. Traditional bowls, three bowls triples is the preferred game names and entries in by 9.30am.

The specially prepared roast (two meat and veggies) ideal lunch at the renown Clayton’s Bistro cost $14 will be a treat and gives all time to reflect on the day of bowls, make new acquaintances and share in fellowship with the local community of Yerong Creek.
Bowls on the day costing $5 and the $1 jackpot keeps the day in budget at $20 each and very affordable to all. If travelling from Wagga, an option would be, to car pool and if you require further info please contact the ladies above, they would love to hear from you.
Riverina Travelling Bowlers Inc conveys a welcoming invitation to all members and friends to support our monthly bowls event. No doubt the Yerong Creek Bowling Club would be looking for great support from neighbouring bowls clubs at Henty Culcain, The Rock and Holbrook, also reaching out to their membership to make this a special day on their bowling calendar.

The day also includes the usual raffle, jackpot and winners presentations and the highlight of the day supporting the Yerong Creek Bowling Club and encouraging the joy of sharing country hospitality provided by Paul and Sally Flinn and dedicated volunteers that keeps the doors open supporting their local community.
Looking further ahead and after the Big Day at Yerong Creek Bowling Club we will be visiting Gundagai RSL Exserviceman Bowling Club on May 6, always a great day to look forward to. Again sharing with our membership base in the nearby localities Gundagai, Adelong and Tarcutta and appreciating their loyalty and fellowship and the value they add to Riverina Travelling Bowlers Inc.
Henty Bowling Club follows on the May 27 and Mick Brougham has assured us a great welcome.

Culcairn Golf Club
ON SUNDAY, the first round of the Optus Lavington Billabong Classic was played in very warm and dry conditions. Top ten scores for the day: J Scott and C Scott: 51, S Lowe and D Smith: 48, M Smith and M Frost: 47, G Kent and S Keshire: 46, P Ralston and B Nixon: 46, R Hall and M Clark: 44, N Williams and M Crawford: 42, C Warburton and R Alexander: 42, M Roberts and B Kilpatrick: 41, J Russell and G Lambeth: 39. Nearest to the pins were: third D Smith, 9th S Keshire, and 17th R Alexander.
All players are looking forward to round two on Sunday, May 13.
This Sunday will be the Culcairn Butchery stableford event and starting time is 11am for 11.30am hit off. The course is dry but it is in great condition with the new green surrounds playing perfectly.
This Wednesday, Penny Graeber, a professional from Thurgoona Golf Club, will conduct a free clinic for anyone who plays golf or would like to have a try. This clinic will begin at 11.30am and will run for an hour. At 10am there will be a free clinic for students from Culcairn Public School who were involved in the clinics held last year.
On Wednesday, April 18 our Annual Ladies Tournament will be held. It will be a Pynehurst event, with a 9am for 9.30am shotgun start.
A fun day of golf and a delicious lunch will be served, so why not grab a partner and come and join us!
