FAT Bob and the Blonde is not a travel guide or a story about a midlife crisis. It is most certainly not a story about a fat man named Bob.

Fat Bob and the Blonde is a memoir by Heather Ward, a sassy woman who took a road trip around Australia with Fat Bob (a Harley Davidson) and Mr T (a camper trailer).
When Heather kicked off her journey in 2014, she kept a Facebook page to share her adventures, making regular posts of her travels and encounters, which would later form the foundation of her book.
Post like this one from Broken Hill “Well I came; I saw and loved Broken Hill. A timeless town. Wide streets lined with beautiful grand public buildings, big pubs (so many I lost count) and a wonderful assortment of cottages and houses. I wanted to move into them all!”
Heather says she loves her “life behind bars – handlebars, that is!” and lives by the mantra life is short. Get ready for some motivational “tool box” preaching on being happy, taking off your grumpy pants and not bartering with your precious time. Through her journey, Heather has connected to gut instincts, rediscovered her passions and broken a few rules.
As Heather’s pillion passenger, you will discover you don’t always need a plan, a map, or a GPS to journey to amazing places and meet fabulous people. Enjoy a little wine and cheese as you chat to the author. Book sales and signing will be available on the night.
Hometown writer and adventurer Heather Ward will launch her book Fat Bob and the Blonde on March 8, International Women’s Day at the Wagga City Library at 5.45pm. Bookings are essential: bit.ly/wwcl_heatherward or contact the library on 6929 6700.
