Dear Aunty,
My partner of 12 years told me he no longer loves me because I “cheated on him”. I have never even considered any such thing. The accusations are groundless and unsubstantiated.
He suggests that we start over as friends and see where things go. He told me he doesn't want to be in a relationship. However, he's sleeping with a woman that I know. I tell him I love him, but he just tells me he knows. Should I hold out for him, or tell him the "friends" thing is not going to work and head for the divorce courts?
AGONY AUNT
KICK him to the kerb. The guy is using your “fake” infidelity to justify his need or desire to play the field. All the while he keeps you on a hook in case his little adventure with another woman runs aground. Why would you even consider sticking around to take seconds? A serious dose of self respect and dignity would be your best friends right now. Give it to him straight, we do not put up with this sort of behaviour.
BOYS CLUB
Sounds like it is very much over!
