However, a number of members travelled to Tumut on Sunday to shoot the Tumut “1000”.
This is an annual shoot at Tumut shot at 1000 Yards with two stages.
One 10 shot and one 15 shot.
The Tumut club put on a good day including the Saturday Sweepstakes event.
The mound at 1000Y is under the big gums!
The big trees creating a great shaded area for parking, shooting and for lunch.
A good roll up of shooters from far and wide including Hornsby, Cessnock, Bega, Griffith, Ungarie, Leeton and Canberra.
Conditions were good but you had to watch the mirage.
This was particularly an issue in the afternoon with rapid wind changes.

In Target Rifle A Grade David Xuereb was victorious.

COMING EVENTS
THIS coming weekend, February 24 and 25 is a shoot and working bee
On Saturday morning we plan to be setting up our upgraded Target System.
Geoff Roberts will be visiting to help us set it up and to monitor the afternoon shoot.
We will need a couple of people to come early for 9:30am to assist setting up.
We will start our normal shoot at 1pm on Saturday.
On Sunday we have a working bee planned.
David is organising a clean up and tip run to get rid of rubbish out of target shed.
Also there is a large branch across the road at 900Yds that needs to be cut up and removed.
Graham and Scott will need one or two others to help with the installation and set up of our new Solar Power system.
This includes the solar panels to be installed on the roof.
If we get all this done we may have a practice shoot in the afternoon after tip is closed.
