The Bald Archys were created in 1994 as a testament to irreverent and sartorial artwork in Australia.
The competition’s inaugural winning artwork – Yuk! Mr Edmund Capon by Rocco Fazzari not only won, but attracted a lot of attention in Australian art circles.
Plenty of curious onlookers tagged along to Friday night’s grand opening, at which Mr Batey delivered a keynote address.
Museum of the Riverina manager Luke Grealy was delighted to have all the winning artworks in one gallery.
“These past winners have never been together before,” he said.
“I guess you could call it a world premiere.”
