The soothing voice of Harry Mangelsdorf and tight tunes from The Groove Factorie provided the musical backdrop to the summer scene.
The band forfeited an entry fee in exchange for donations to much-loved charity, Country Hope.
A crowd of hundreds lapped up the atmosphere as Friday’s ferocious heat eased into the cooler evening.
“Those two or three hundred people came together and enjoyed themselves, listened to some good music and raised money for charity at the same time,” bass guitarist Geoff Simpson said.
“We don’t come together like this enough, so why not?”
