The environmental science student said she was thrilled to be in Malaysia.
“I am beyond proud to be representing Australia and my home town Wagga,” Miss Neil said.
“I am very grateful for the enormous support of my family, friends, and community back home.”
Ms Neil said she wanted to promote Australia’s uniquely friendly culture.
“I want to invite the world to experience the Australian way of life, and I hope to be an example of our charismatic, genuine, outgoing, welcoming, and likeable people,” she said.
“As an ambassador for tourism, I will advocate for peaceful travel around the world to enrich our lives with different cultures and heritage that can teach us many things about one another.”
