Ulysses
Well, here we are again after a very pleasant break. I trust you all had a very relaxed Christmas and the new year is shaping up to your expectations.
The Wednesday riders have been fairly active over the festive season, with the ride on December 27 taking a small group up to Gundagai for a coffee break. A couple of riders from West Australia had rocked up to Billy’s and it was decided that a short ride would be the order of the day, so off they went.
On January 4, a rather large contingent of nine left about 9:15am and took the road to Tumbarumba where they had morning tea at the bakery, refreshed the fuel tanks and made themselves comfortable for the next part of the journey down to Walwa via Tooma and Tintaldra. At Walwa, a nice lunch was served at the Walwa Pub and after the usual banter the group left for home base through Jingellic and Holbrook. Somewhere along the line a pair of riders had peeled off so it was seven who rode home together. Once again, a good day out in good weather.
On January 11, four riders – Les, Oscar, Ian and Gerhard – took the back road through Wantabadgery to Gundagai then up to Brungle, down to Coolac and across to Cootamundra where they had lunch at the Coota Bakery. After a light repast they took the Olympic Way back home arriving a little after 2pm. Another good day out in the saddle.
Apart from a ride today (January 17) our next get-together will be at the Grauer’s residence for breakfast at 7.30am, followed by a ride up Laurel Hill way. Their address is 11 Tywong Street, Ladysmith. Please let Leslie or Gerhard know if you will be coming. Phones: 0418 761 372 or 6922 1569.
The next branch meeting will be held in the Radio Club rooms on February 20. Remember, Wednesday rides leave from Billy’s Café at 9am. Meet and greet each Saturday at Billy’s Café at 10am. The attendance has been low over the Christmas period, but that has been due to people being away and a host of other reasons. We will see you on the road.
