Probably only going to be short and sweet but pretty sure there is something on next week but it just escapes what it is at the moment ... don’t worry it will eventually come to me.
What a hectic couple of weeks it has been – and that’s why there wasn’t a column last weekend.
The 5.30am starts and the 8pm finishes take a toll on the elderly and it’s my excuse for forgetting a few things – oh that’s right it’s Christmas.

DUE to the hot weather there has been and will be lots of boats on all waterways around the Riverina.
I have already had some comments from customers of boating enthusiasts not being courteous to other boat users so just be mindful of all and everything around you whilst boating.
The last thing we want during the Christmas break is angst among people on the water and the possibility of a ruined break.
****
I HOPE all and sundry have finished their Christmas shopping and are now relaxing, thinking of the fishing trip you/they and their mates, kids, partners, family, etc will be taking over the break - not like us slow ones who are right now, while you are reading this, are madly thinking what to buy.
I said it earlier this year that I was going to do a lot more fishing in 2017, unfortunately I didn’t do a lot, but I did do a bit more than the year before, so next year is going to be even better.
For the readers of this column you will know that I am now addicted to marlin fishing so next year I am going to do more of that.
Speaking to a couple of mates during the week we also talked about tuna fishing in Portland, snapper fishing in South Australia, broadbill in Warrnambool and possibly sailfish at South West Rocks.
Now, this may sound like lot of fishing but, in the whole scheme of things, if only a couple of these trips come to fruition, it will be more than what we did the previous year so that’s a plus.
What I am really doing is planting a seed for those fishermen who want to try something different next year and may just want to tag along. It also gives me something to write about as well.
Like I said short and sweet, hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas break.
If you wet a line I hope you are successful and hope I can have something to write about next year that you can enjoy reading.
