After a tumultuous journey the pair received some welcome news in February, announced as the winners of Wagga’s Wedding Expo.
Mrs McGlynn tragically lost her five-year-old daughter Indya in 2008, when she died suddenly from a cardiac arrest, with a genetic heart condition.
The heartbreaking loss marked the start of the families struggles, with Mrs McGlynn’s sister diagnosed with Wolfram Syndrome in 2012.
In 2013, Mrs McGlynn’s mother was rushed to hospital with thyrotoxicosis, which she battled for more than 12 months.
As a registered nurse, Mrs McGlynn spent majority of her time caring for her family members, with a wedding falling down the list of priorities.
On Saturday, family and friends couldn’t wipe the smiles from their faces as they watched the pair exchange their long-awaited vows.
“It feels amazing - it’s been a long time coming,” Mr McGlynn said.
“We just seem to be able to balance each other so well, sort problems out and have a common goal.”
Mrs McGlynn said she wanted to thank everyone involved in planning their special day.
“I’ve loved everything about it,” she said.
“Geoffrey has been so strong for me and I think that’s always what I needed.”
