Staff of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District are already being urged to wear their favourite sporting jersey to work to show their support for the Donate Life network and to start a conversation with their friends about organ donation.
Sarah Woolley, donor nurse specialist for MLHD, is also encouraging Wagga schools and businesses to put on their favourite jersey and take a few minutes to think about organ donation.
Jersey Day was inspired by Nathan Gremmo , a 13-year-old who died in an accident in 2015, and who had already told his family he wanted his organs donation. Five adults and a baby were helped by Nathan’s donation.
