A car carrying two women from Albury led police on a high speed chase near Yerong Creek through Uranquinty and Springvale before spinning out onto grass on Saturday night.

The chase began on the Olympic Highway at 9.15pm with police alleging the car reached speeds in excess of 100km/h in 50km/h zones, and at times was driven without lights to seemingly avoid detection.
While both women were uninjured from the crash, the passenger was discovered with a dark coloured “break-in kit” including a pair of dishwashing gloves. A second pair of gloves was also found.
Wagga police Inspector Andrew Spliet said the woman had an excuse when police asked what the items were for.
“She said she used them for fixing things and then added that she was a bit of a handyman,” Inspector Spliet said.
“Police charged her with possessing house-breaking implements. She’s been refused bail.”
The 21-year-old driver was charged with never holding a driver’s licence, speeding in a dangerous manner and negligent driving. She is due to face Wagga Local Court on September 26.
Both women were drug tested with the results expected before the September court date.
