Kooringal High School student wins state Pitchfest competition

Wagga teenager Michael Nixon has pitched his educational brainchild and come up trumps in a statewide competition.

Michael, 14, won the state final of Australia Post Regional Pitchfest at the state finals.

He pitched The Amazing Annoyatron,a kit designed to introduce children to electronics and coding.

He not only won the $5000 first prize, but also took out the $1500 Community Choice Award, chosen by the audience at the finals in Dubbo on Wednesday night.

The Kooringal High School student will represent NSW at the national final, to be in Wagga on August 18.

“This has been such an incredible journey so far; to make great new contacts, gain practical experience and build momentum to keep moving forward.”
