The jolly man in red stole the hearts of Wagga children on Saturday morning, as he officially launched the Christmas season.
A crowd of mums, dads, grandparents and little ones was gathered on Baylis Street for the annual parade, with some literally jumping for joy at the sight of Saint Nick.
Wagga mum Kerri Toal said it was always an exciting time and not just for the children.
“We look forward to it every year … it’s great,” Ms Toal said. “It’s always sad when the kids don’t want to come anymore.”
Jiggling his belly like a bowl full of jelly, Santa arrived at Wagga Marketplace, bringing his friends to help spread cheer, ahead of the Christmas season.
Bananas in Pyjamas stars B1 and B2, Papa Smurf & Smurfette, the famous bouncing roos, Santa’s elves and reindeer bounded past young and old, with waves and high-fives for all.
Six-year-old Robert Toal already knew what he wanted for Christmas this year but he said the best thing about the season was Santa’s visit.
