THIS weekend’s shoot was at 500 Yards at Lockhart.
The weather was fantastic though the wind was not playing the game and was challenging at times.
Good to see John Owens again and he shot well in the first stage and then suffered equipment failure in the second stage.
A cake was served after the shoot for Hubert’s and Phil’s birthday!
In F Open Ben Goodwin dominated with an excellent score.

Ulysses
OSCAR, Gary, Woody and his mate from Ariah Park all set off for a ride in pristine weather for the mid-week run just passed.
First stop was Culcairn and from there down the Olympic way to Ettamogah, past the Pub and around the back to the Hume Weir, below the dam wall to the Murray Valley Highway and on to Tallangatta, over the Granya then to Walwa for lunch.
With lunch and gossip out of the way the group headed home through Jingellic, Holbrook and Mangoplah.
The Wagga Crew got back about 4pm and Woody and co would have been another hour later getting to Temora and Ariah Park. All up about 400kms in great weather.
There was a really good turn-out at Billy’s on Saturday morning and most wasted away the entire morning before adjourning for lunch back at their respective Ranches.
Annette was training a new helper in the shop who was having difficulty opening the ‘Jewish Piano’ so the boss said just leave it open – man you should have seen the moths fly out. Crafty brought his younger brother along to demonstrate the finer points in life but I really think it was to show Crafty the way home, a real live - living GPS, or maybe it was to carry the groceries?
Jackie and John arrived but Jackie was a little worse for wear after a stint in hospital and John was making hay eating her share of the goodies on offer. Was a good morning out in the sun.
Sunday’s ride was very pleasant with six and a half of us leaving McDonalds right on 9am and heading across to Collingullie. The half was Barry’s granddaughter riding pillion. From Collingullie we took the back road to The Rock then joined the Olympic Way down to Culcairn where we enjoyed some food and drink at the bakery. Big Trev left us at Culcairn to return home and attend a birthday party and the rest of us motored over to Morven where Crafty visited a friend, Barry got lost and the remaining three went on to Tarcutta via Holbrook. And at Tarcutta more coffee and other things. From there we returned home by way of Mates Gully Road and had our bikes back in the shed by about 2pm. The day was exceptionally good for riding and most enjoyable.
The annual Bike Fest is on at Bombala on the 19th but at this stage nothing has been organised from our end so if you wish to go it will be on an individual basis, however at this late stage accommodation will be fairly tight. Apart from our next branch meeting on the 21st the next event on the calendar will be the Christmas Party at the Round-about Restaurant in Tarcutta Street on November 25. For further info give Lorraine a call on 0428 312 336. To round the year off we will have the Toy Run on Saturday, December 2 from Jubilee Oval car park at 9am. More about that as we get closer.
Have just received a newsletter from Natcom regarding the 2018 AGM event to be held in the Riverland district of South Australia. The dates are from May 7 to 13 and indications are that fees for this event will be reduced, making it more attractive for members
For local info on the Ulysses Club give our president (Trevor) a call on 0418 517 673 or secretary (Mary) on 0413 586 196.
