ULYSSEES
There were five starters at last Wednesday’s take-off point, at Billy’s, and their first point on the map was Ladysmith.
From Ladysmith they headed through Coreinbob on to Mates Gully Road and then Tarcutta, and then through Westbrook to Tumbarumba where they all checked in for lunch.
After lunch the trip took them through Batlow, Adelong, Tumbalong, Wantabadgery and home.
The round trip clocked up about 280km in great weather with a new-kid-on-the-block, Sue, who handled the roads extremely well in spite of her limited experience.
The Saturday Meet and Greet was well attended with about 15 who came along to air their views and offer their ‘expert’ input to the discussions in progress.
What a beautiful day on Sunday for a ride with only one starter, Les, and his trusty steed Yammy.
He did head toward Rutherglen, which was the destination for the day, but only got as far as Maxwell and turned across to Uranquinty and then to all points North toward Temora.
There was a hot Rod show on at Springdale and that is where Les ended up.
He did mention that there were quite a few groups of bikes on the road from various areas, but the only ‘group’ from Wagga was in one bundle.
He called in and saw Garry Crabtree at the ‘Old School House’ in Bethungra on the way home and enjoyed a nice hot cup of Bethungra coffee.
Our next ride is the Pink Ribbon Ride on the 15th October and will be under the control of Jackie Starr.
First stop is Narrandera for morning tea at $5 per head.
There will also be a fee of $5 per head for the ride so all up you will be up for $10 each and all of that money goes toward Breast Cancer research.
Lunch will be at the Mary Gilmore Festival at Ariah Park.
For further information, give Jackie a call on 6924 1772 or on her mobile 0413 305 753.
The next branch meeting will be at the Radio Club Rooms, in Small Street, on October 17 starting at 7:30pm.
The doors will be open from 7pm. Come along and bring a friend, all interested persons are welcome.
The meetings are usually only about 30 minutes long and supper is available at a nominal fee on $2 with a raffle offering some “great” prizes. Great depends on whose eyes you are looking through. We will also learn the whereabouts of the Christmas function and the cost related at the branch meeting.
Have fun on the run in the sun.
