Supporters and opponents of the proposed Wagga Rail Trail will get their first look at plans on Wednesday night.

Consulting firm Inspiring Place will present its “strategic directions and implementation plan” in council’s meeting room from 5.30pm.

As assessment of the trail route and features, indicative costings, an action plan and recommendations for development and management will all be presented, with a copy of the plan to be made public after the meeting.

Inspiring Place was tasked with preparing the plan after $50,000 was raised through a crowdfunding campaign just before Christmas last year.

Between April and August this year Inspiring Place undertook an extensive consultation and analysis process with a range of stakeholders, including neighbours, user groups, council and government agencies.

The report to be presented on September 13 outlines the results of the stakeholder engagement and analysis and the independent assessment conducted by Inspiring Place.
