On Saturday, nine members travelled to Wangaratta to shoot in their Charity Shoot. 300M, 500M, 600M.
In F Open our Ben Goodwin was first with a perfect score of 180.19.
His dad John was third with 179.13, John Dixon was fourth with 176.13 and Neville Lyons 6th171.6. In F Standard Graham Crowe was third in FA with 176.7. Matt Carr was fourth and John Smoothy 7th in FB. In Target Rifle Dave Xuereb was third with 148.11 and Scott Brindley 5th with 146.8.
It was a great day out at the picturesque Glenrowan Range.
On Sunday six members travelled to Ungarie for their annual prize meeting.
Conditions were extremely tough with 50km/hr winds and shooting two ranges at 900 and then one at 1000Yards did not help.
And after lunch the wind swung around 180 degrees and strengthened prior to the 1000 Yard match.
For a while it looked like we would not be able to operate the targets.
The conditions were reflected in the results.
Just the same it was and exciting and character building day! Target Rifle A Grade was won by Local Rod Crerar 146.5, Dave Xuereb 143.3 was second and Scott Brindley 136.6 was third.
In F Standard A Jacinta Bradley from Griffith won her first match as A Grade with 162.5, Graham Crowe was 6th with 150.2.
In F Standard B our new member Matt Carr came 1st with 156! Well done Matt!
In F Open Lex Lane from Canberra was first with 180.5, Neville Lyons 163.3 was third and John Dixon 162.3 was fourth.
Next weekend will be a 1000Y shoot at Lockhart. Hopefully the wind will be a bit quieter!
Ulysses
I THINK some of the old codgers are getting a bit soft, last week nine turned up at Billy’s for the Wednesday run but it was too cold?
However, a couple of the more adventurous thought it over and went home to get their bikes for a short squirt to somewhere.
As it turned out the day improved considerably as time went on.
The usual gathering at Meet and Greet on Saturday morning was well attended and the affairs of the World were discussed and solved.
Well the run to Corryong was on Sunday and five members started out on the venture. Up to Tumbarumba via Westbrook Road for the first stop where the weather looked a bit threatening.
Two members had some prior arrangements so they departed from Tumba. The remaining members agreed to take a short cut on the day and head to Jingellic for lunch but due to the short spin across the top of the hills we were early for lunch so off we went to Holbrook.
Arriving in Holbrook the weather had improved and after fuel and food we headed off back to Wagga. not a huge amount of K's travelled but a good day in all.
Our next adventure is to Jerilderie for the Tri Branch weekend this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
If you want some further info on the weekend give Jackie Starr a call on 0413 305 753.
