“I’d heard so much about Heartbreak Hill that I went to Sydney really, really nervous,” Mrs St Clair said.
“My sister and I were together and all of a sudden I got very emotional. It was my dad’s anniversary that day, and we were there for (daughter) Amie, but I thought, ‘what I’m going through is nothing to Amie’, so I soldiered on and it was beautiful,” she said.
Wagga’s Boyce Chartered Accountants marked 10 years running the 14-kilometre event by raising a record $38,150 for the Amie St Clair Melanoma Trust.
“Annette is just an inspirational woman and mother, and putting her personal story out there is incredibly brave, Ms Mackellar said.
