TOP Wagga touch referee David Baggio has been honoured for his contribution to the sport by winning a top gong at the NSW Community Sports Awards in Sydney.

Baggio was announced as the winner of the Community Official of the Year at Parliament House in Sydney on Thursday night.
Baggio was one of 10 winners named at the NSW Community Sports Awards, where coaches, officials, teams, events and clubs are recognised for their dedication to improving the lives of others through sport.
“David is a level six referee as well as presenter-facilitator and referee coach,” his nomination read.
“He officiated at local, state, national and international levels, including the Junior State Cup, Vawdon Cup, Youth Trans Tasman, Trans Tasman and the Touch World Cup.
“David regularly mentors many referees and assists them through their levels as well as working with elite referees to improve their skills.”
Long-serving Collingullie-Glenfield Park official Terry Fuller was also recognised at the ceremony with a distinguished long service award.
Fuller was honoured for his 30 years of involvement with the club at junior and senior levels.
He is still heavily involved, assisting the junior executive with everything football and netball, and is also the club’s treasurer, game-day volunteer, major functions coordinator and on the club’s board of management.
