No, it wasn’t the finals of “Australia’s Got Sangas”, it was a fundraiser for Riverina woman Rebecca Collie, who barely survived a horrific quad bike accident in April.
While she recovered at the Royal Talbot Rehab Centre in Melbourne, Ms Collie’s sister Sarah Kisela arranged a fundraising sausage sizzle at The Good Guys in Wagga.
“We had people come all the way from Griffith and Coleambally to share a sausage,” Mrs Kisela said.
“I’d shared the event on Facebook and it was great to catch up with everyone who wanted to know how the family was going.
“It was a lovely day in the sun with a lot of helpers and we raised more than $400 for Beck.”
While Ms Collie couldn’t be there on the day, Mrs Kisela sent through a lot of photos and the family was reportedly “very excited” to see them.
Mrs Kisela and her husband will also host a ‘gameshow’ fundraiser in Wagga in the coming months.
The funds will be crucial in the coming months, as Ms Collie still has a mortgage to pay, mounting medical bills and ongoing expenses.
