Ulysses
WHAT great day last Wednesday was. Four of us left the launching pad at 9.40am (just a tad late) and went through Wantabadgery and Tumbalong to Adelong, where we stopped for one of the districts best coffees at the little shop just across the road from the Services Club.

After coffee Les turned back to Wagga to attend a funeral and the rest of us went on to Tumut where we topped up the tanks and then went on to Coolac via the Brungle Road.
We had lunch at the Coolac Hotel and then shot over to Cootamundra then back home at 3pm by way of Bethungra and Junee. It was a great ride in great weather wearing another 300kms off the tyres.
The weather over the Easter break was sublime but the Sunday ride only drew three riders out into the sunshine and, I believe, they went down Walwa way.
Others went for short spurts at various times over the weekend but I feel visiting relatives may have put the brakes on many family activities
On May 8 there will be a “Transport Day’” at Willans Hill School on Baden Powell Drive and we are asking a few of you to turn up there, with your bike, at 11am for the students to savour.
Morning tea will be served and vehicles on display will be presented by police, NSW Ambulance, NSW Fire Service, Toll and a host of others. If you could help out it would be most appreciated and you only need to be there for an hour or so.
On Saturday, April 19 The RMS is hosting a first aid for motorcyclists forum at the International Hotel starting at 11am.
The course runs from 11am until 3.30pm with a 45-minute break at 12.30pm for lunch. The actual by cost of the training is $80 per person but the RMS is subsidising the course by $40 making the cost to you $40 and if you are a paid up Ulysses member the club will further subsidise the cost by another $20 so all you will be out of pocket is the grand sum of $20.
So get your name in the hat by calling 0427 464 266. For further information contact Denise Crouch (Road User Safety Project Officer) on 6923 6613 0r 0418 202 325.
The April Branch meeting was held last night and we will bring you and update next week with who is who on the new committee.
The next Sunday ride is May 7, leaving McDonalds Edward Street car park at 9am to a destination to be yet decided.
And the next big event is the Port Macquarie/Wauchope AGM which runs from Monday, May 22 until Sunday, May 28, so get those bikes serviced in readiness for another great ride north.
If your tyres are looking a bit tired, slip on a new pair. See you on the road.
