Normally a man of policy, Mr Hayes turned his attention to entirely different party moves, learning hip-hop skills from YouTube and his nine-year-old daughter.
Mr Hayes has committed to hip-hop dance for $1000, eat a monstrous meal for $2000, attempt a front flip off a five-metre diving platform for $3000 and swim across Lake Albert for $10,000, with all money raised to be donated to Make-A-Wish.
Mr Hayes said there was a great turn out for his five minutes of dancing fame, with his tally up to $1200.
“To be able to bring a smile to the kids’ faces involved with Make-A-Wish is everything,” Mr Hayes said.
“If humiliating myself does that, I’d do it everyday.”
