Ulysses
LES Smith and Allan Tye were the only takers for a mid-week ride on the 15th and headed to the old favourite spots up in the mountains.
They left Wagga and took the back road to Gundagai through Wantabadgery and called into the Dog on the Tuckerbox. From there it was up to Tumut through Brungle and then on to Batlow and Tumbarumba.
From Tumba back to Wagga and home by 1.30pm. It was a great day weather wise. Come and join in on a Wednesday ride where you can have some input as to the destination, nothing is regimented just bring your own compass.
Fred is out of hospital after his incident at Cabramurra and his place has been taken by Peter Meiklejohn who has been suffering from back pain for a week or two.
Last week it got the better of him and he was admitted for some extensive testing of his aging frame. So far it seems he has a kidney problem and we will know more about it at a later date.
And Allan Tye is off to Sydney again this week for further testing of his on-going problems, we wish them all the best.
I went down to McDonalds at 8.30am on Sunday and there were only two starters for the Sunday ride, Les and Jeff. And as it turned out that was it for the day, a very disappointing result for an official ride and I do know that some other members went off and did their own thing. I for one went over to Canberra on some personal business, via Cooma. Les and Jeff had a good day, going to Tooma for lunch via Holbrook and Walwa.
The Black Dog Ride was conducted on Sunday with 155 bikes attending.
They Left The Wagga Leisure Centre at 9:00am and headed for Tumbarumba where they stopped for 20 minutes or so and then shot across to Tumut and after a brief spell at Tumut the ride came back to Wagga and stopped at The Palm and Pawn where lunch was provided.
There was a very good representation from all motorcycling groups around the district which is probably one of the reasons the Ulysses ride was a bit short on riders that day.
Our branch meeting was held last night and we will give you a heads up on that next week.
The next Sunday ride will be held on 2nd April and I will give you the destination next week. In the meantime, ride safe.
