Eighteen members and three possible future members braved the cool morning to ride or drive to Ladysmith for breakfast on Sunday last. Then it was on to the Laurel Hill Blueberry Farm via Tumblong, Adelong and Wondalga, for the excellent coffee and pancakes with blueberries and ice-cream. Neil joined us here.
The return ride was to Tumbarumba, where some refuelled, while the rest of us had a short leg stretch. While most of us waited in the shade beside Tumbarumba Creek, we saw two riders departing up the hill towards Wagga Wagga; it’s a pity that one of them forgot his pillion. Terry had a passenger on his Spyder on the way home. Another good ride.
The next branch ride is a three-day ride planned for January 27-29, with the first day being from Wagga to Bombala, which will be a total of 380 kilometres. On day 2 the ride will be from Bombala to Jindabyne and then Khancoban covering about 219 kilometres and day 3 will be from Khancoban to Wagga by way of Cabramurra and Tumbarumba, a distance of 263 kilometres. For further details of the three-day ride contact Di Middleton on 0411 054 603.
The first Sunday in February (5th) will see a ride venturing to Cabramurra.
On January 29 (Sunday) we will be doing the barbecue at Bunnings to raise some money.
Last Saturday saw about eight at Billy’s for Meet and Greet and it was very pleasant out on the footpath in the cool of the morning.
Wednesday rides are on again for 2017 and leave each Wednesday from Billy’s at 9am, although I have to say that of late so much discussion goes into the destination, the rides often don’t get away until about 9.30. But who cares?
The Ulysses AGM this year is at Port Macquarie (Wauchope) from May 22-28. Full details in the Riding On Magazine or call the national administration office on 1300 134 123.
So all the best for 2017 with a reminder that Wednesday rides are supposed to depart at 9am from Billy’s. Sunday and weekend rides leave from McDonalds’ car park in Edward Street at 9am and Meet and Greet on Saturdays get under way at 10am at Billy’s. Of course this Sunday just go out to the Graeur’s when you are ready.
