All got pushed around by the changeable wind. Once a decision to shoot was made it had to bet let go quickly before conditions changed again. Ben Goodwin fared best in F Class and it was pretty even in Target Rifle.
Scott tried out his new Gemini Stock and while not comfortable yet was showing potential. Thanks to Dave for helping to set me up.
Reminder that the Christmas shoot will be held on the 10th December. We will have a team shoot in the morning followed by lunch at the Ex Services Club. Further details will be sent next week.
You should already have your name in by now if you are coming, but if not please advise now! Salads and deserts will be required and can be co-ordinated through Linda Crowe.
Next week will be an 800 Yard shoot.
There is still some mowing to be done if you can come early.

ORIENTEERING
ALEX and Debbie Davey won their respective classes at the opening of the WaggaRoos Summer Series of Orienteering conducted in the Mt Austin – Turvey Park area on Thursday.
The Summer Series of orienteering will incorporate 10 events held at 6pm each Thursday evening through to December 15 and then recommencing on 26 January 2017 after a short break in the holiday period.
The format will be similar to previous years in which participants have to navigate to specific places to find the answers to questions about the local area within a set time limit. Points are awarded for correct answers and deducted for exceeding the nominated time limit.
Last Thursday’s event commenced from the Walteela Ave side of French Fields. Questions included identifying particular garden features, colours of letterboxes, or specific signs’ details.
Choosing the 45 minute time limit option Alex Davey and Geoff Breese took almost identical routes and covered close to 7km seeking the answers to their questions. Both men judged the time beautifully finishing within seconds of the chosen time limit. However, Alex had found one more answer and scored 185 compared with Geoff’s 175. Geoff salvaged some pride winning the handicap honours for the event.
The 30 minute course was just as tight. Participants went in a variety of directions. Debbie Davey had trouble finding one particular answer but still scored well amassing a solid 60 points. Ian McDougall and Iain and Ashleigh Crossett did almost as well tying for second with 55 points. Ian MacDougall actually found more answers but lost points for exceeding the time limit.
Event 2 in the Summer Series of Orienteering will commence at 6pm in Paldi Ave Glenfield next Thursday 1 December.
Results: 45 Minute Course: Alex Davey 185; Geoff Breese 175. 30 Minute Course: Debbie Davey 60; Ian McDougall 55; Iain & Ashleigh Crossett 55; Darren Kupke 45; Jo McDougall 35; Rob & Deb McDougall -25.
