Most retirees aim to stay in their own home as long as possible and Meals on Wheels looks to make this possible.
The group serves up almost 40,000 meals a year to around 400 people.
Wagga Meals on Wheels manager Julie Logan said a lot of people don’t realise they are eligible for the service or how to get it.
“We want to let people know what we do and offer a taste test,” she said.
“People over 65 who are having difficulty preparing their own meals, can get meals seven days a week or just as a backup for those days they don’t feel like preparing their own meals.”
The service is able to provide 800 meals a week to 150 people thanks to the work of 90 volunteers delivering meals Monday to Friday.
