There is no clear cut path when it comes to life after work. This is where the Ageing and Retirement Expo comes in, to provide information on the options available for retirees and their families.
The expo was started by Bush and Campbell Financial Services in 2012 when the team saw a need to support retirees financially.
“The idea was to demystify the entire process (of retirement). We started it as a community service,” Bush and Campbell Business Manager Jan Centrella said.
This year will mark the third year of the expo which has run every second year since 2012.
Bush and Campbell financial planning team director Sharon Ferguson said the event is aimed at people who are retired and are looking for activities to do and for people in later stages or retirement looking for alternative accommodation.

“The first expo we ran we had no idea what people would think or if they would even come,” she said.
The expo brings together services and information from a variety of sources including financial advice, legal advice, health and fitness and government support.
“This isn’t just for retirees, it’s also for their families,” Mrs Ferguson said.
“What the expo gives families is the opportunity to start to have those conversations, open the communication up and for parents to start to talk to their children about what they want to have happen if their health should fail and as they get older.”
