At 500m a relatively new shooter Daniel Taylor took out light gun with a score of 257.04 with best target (59 – perfect score 60) and smallest group (0.589 inches) going to Anthony Hall.
Anthony’s group is a new national record, bettering the national record of 0.963” set by Tracy Deehan at the same event last year.
Tracy is the first, and to date only, woman to hold a national fly record.
In heavy gun it was Michael Bell from Paul Deehan and Barry Tucker.
Michael also won best target, smallest group and light/heavy grand agg on the day.
On Sunday he was fourth in 300m custom class and won the barrel for the best 500/300 grand agg, truly an outstanding performance.
At 300m, custom class went to Paul Deehan. Jedie Dallow, at his first competition shoot, scored a creditable 256.05 to take out the junior trophy.
The door prize of a Maddco barrel went to Glenn Seaman.
Saturday the 3rd is shotgun from 1.30 and Sunday the 4th is military service rifle from 10am (5/50, 10/1000, 5/200)

Vets news, and last Monday’s nine-hole stroke event was won by Peter Kirkman with a great score of 25 nett, from Roy Sanders 29, and Bob Hodge and Tony Pollard, each with 30 nett.
Bob Moore led the small field home in Thursday’s comp, also with a score of 25 nett, from the consistent Roy Sanders 30, Peter Kirkman 31 and Peter Briggs 33 nett on a c/b.
After missing out last Tuesday due to the ongoing wet weather, the ladies re-grouped for an Irish three-ball event on Friday.
Winners on the day were Sue Oakman, Val Brunskill and Trish Gray, while the NTP’s went to Monica Kember, Marg Bradley and Colleen Mavroudis.
The girls are hoping the rain will stay away this week as they compete in their 4BBB Championships.
Another small field toughed it out on Wednesday in the members’ mid-week stableford comp.
Trevor Garside returned to the A Grade winner’s circle, but only just, when he scored 38 pts to beat Steve Hall on a c/b, while in B Grade, Doug Emery carded 35 pts to beat Col Smith, also on a c/b.
NTP’s to Rex Kember and John Mooney. Ball comp to 34 pts on a c/b.
Much improved weather saw a better turnout for Saturday’s Stableford event.
A couple of in-form low-markers fought it out in the A Grade event, with Matt Tooze handling the heavy conditions well to post 39 pts for an easy win from last Saturday’s Monthly Medal winner, Tony Turner, 35 pts on a c/b from Kyle Harrison.
In B Grade, Daniel Howard also carded 39 pts for a win from John Parker 38, and Mark McIntyre 35 pts.
Peter Lyons only needed 34 pts to collect the C Grade voucher, a point clear of Darryl Dickinson, with Petri Parvianen third on a c/b with 31 pts.
NTP’s to Daniel Howard, Kyle Harrison and John Dare. Ball comp to 31 pts on a c/b.
Saturday also saw the Business Girls compete in their NSW Medal stroke event, with Kerrie Celegon winning the day with 75 nett, from Doreen Hazell 79 nett, while the NTP on the 18th was collected by Jan Pollard.
Finally, last week’s nine-hole Sunday Stableford event was won by newcomer, Andy White, with 20 pts, from Frank Veliscek 18 pts, while the winners in the ball comp were Phil Harrison, Ben Vukurua and Tony Merrigan, 17 pts on a c/b.
