Established in 1921, the City of Wagga Eisteddfod is one of the oldest of its kind in the state.
Thousands of children have had the pleasure of performing at it to perfect their skills and gain recognition for talents in music, speech and dance.
Former participant Sophie Mason has been the music convenor for four years.
“As a past performer, I think it’s something for students to work towards,” she said.
“It’s just that little extra thing, a last hurrah before they move on to the next piece.”
The more than 200 performers will range in age from five to 80 years old from Wagga, Canberra and Albury.
The City of Wagga Eisteddfod starts on August 30 and is open for public viewing.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for concession.
