The club shoot at Lockhart was converted to a practice.
Our entrants were: Target Rifle Senior – Scott Brindley. Target Rifle Junior – Jeremy Westblade. F Open – Ben Goodwin. F Standard – Neville Lyons. F-TR - Graham Crowe.
All shot very well despite some interesting starts. Including Ben screwing his old barrel back into its action and hoping everything would still be zeroed. Which it was. Lucky! The match was two 700 Yards followed by two 900 Yard Stages.
Jeremy held off the completion to win Junior Target Rifle and Scott won Senior Target Rifle.
F Open was won by Greg Warrian, F Standard by Darren Bradley and F-TR by Mike Halloran.
On Sunday was the Riverina District Rifle Association Prize Meeting also at Cootamundra. Fantastic weather for the prize meeting which was well attended with 35 shooters.
The winners were: Target Rifle A Grade, Graham Bright, Bathurst 173.13. Target Rifle B Grad, Jeremy Westblade, Lockhart 169.15. Target Rifle C Grade, Paul Simmons, Canberra 168.13. F Standard A, Darren Bradley, Griffith 204.11. F Standard B, John Young, Ungarie 199.11. F Open, Keith Hills, Lyndhurst 206.16.

THE mid-week riders decided to make it short and quick on Wednesday of last week and shot down to Howlong via Henty and Walbundrie. There they filled up with pies and pastries, had a long chat and came home much the same way they went down.
Thommo must have had an inkling he would not be gracing the shores of Howlong for some time so he loaded up his panniers with enough bee stings to last a month. Then again, he is a big boy.
There was a good turn out at Meet and Greet on Saturday morning with around 20 in attendance. It was quite pleasant sitting outside in the sun spinning the odd yarn.
On Sunday we had a great day out. The weather was just right, not too hot and not too cool. No rain and bright blue skies. The start was a bit delayed due to a late arrival but we did manage to get away at 9.30am and headed out Mangoplah way taking the road down through Westby, then up the Hume to the first turn to Tumbarumba where we had the obligatory morning tea.
From Tumbarumba we took the road to Tooma, then Tintaldra and Walwa finally stopping at Jingellic for lunch. There was an enormous crowd there with about 30 motorbikes among the cars lined up out the front. Our lunch arrived after a fairly long wait and at about 2:30pm we came home through Holbrook and Mangoplah.
On Monday a few of us took our bikes up to Willans Hill School where they were having a “transport day” and as usual our showing was very much appreciated. I am sure, given the opportunity, that a few of the school students would loved to hop on and gone for a ride.
Our next Sunday ride will be on June 5 and we will let you know next week where that will lead us.
Wednesday rides are as usual, from Billy’s Café with next week’s ride leaving at 9am and from June until August all rides, Wednesday and Sundays will leave from 9.30am
