8.15am: Wagga City Council will be lobbying former deputy prime minister John Anderson to ensure the proposed inland rail freight link between Melbourne and Brisbane runs through the city.
Mr Anderson, chair of the inland rail implementation group, is due to visit the region this month to inspect the preferred Australian Rail Track Corporation route through Wagga.

7.20am: The Relay for Life movement was launched in Wagga last night, with an expo held promoting the annual 24-hour walk raising money for cancer research.
By participating and donating to the Relay for Life cause, Cancer Council western NSW community engagement officer Pip Grant said it was the goal for future generations to no longer have to fear the word cancer.
