SOME of the Riverina’s best young athletes will be heading to Armidale next week to compete at the 2010 Clubs NSW Academy Games.

A 40-strong contingent of athletes from Southern Sports Academy will be heading to the games, which kick off with an opening ceremony on Wednesday, April 7

Seven sports will be included across the three days, with the Southern Sports Academy squad competing in netball and both boys and girls hockey during the games.

About 1000 athletes, coaches, officials and parents are expected to be involved in the event, from 11 academies across the state.

More information about the competitions is available from the event’s website, www.academygames.com.au
