Carlton supporter set to meet his heroes

04 Aug, 2010 03:07 PM
NEIL Harwood is a Blue through and through.

There will be no hiding Neil’s excitement tomorrow when the Rules Club hosts two Carlton greats – Anthony Koutoufides and Wayne Johnston.

They will headline the Kouta And The Dominator show for the Wagga and District Carlton Blues Group, of which Neil is the president.

Kouta is one of Neil’s all-time favourite players along with the legendary Alex Jesaulenko and modern-day superstar Chris Judd.

“I have never met Kouta or The Dominator (Wayne Johnston) before ... it’s unbelievable to be getting the chance to meet my heroes,” Neil said (pictured above).

Neil, who was a driving force behind the formation of the supporters group in 2007, has been a Carlton devotee since the 1960s when he saw them play live for the first time.

“I have followed Carlton pretty much all my life,” the 57-year-old said.

“My uncle took me to see Carlton play at Princes Park and I loved being a part of the atmosphere.”

Among Neil’s football highlights was seeing the Blues win the 1972 Victorian Football League premiership.

Tickets at a cost of $25 are still available for the Kouta And The Dominator show, which starts at 7.30pm.

Book by calling Brian on 0432 557 568.
