CAROL Raadgever is seen on the front cover with her partner Bruce Golding while enjoying a holiday in South America.
A little more than a year after Carol died following a cycling accident, Bruce will take part in the Ride Of Silence on Sunday.
The event has been organised by Bicycle Wagga Wagga’s Peter Makin, who said there are special reasons to hold a Ride Of Silence in the city.
“I am one of the lucky ones who has been hit, but survived,” Peter said. “Last year we lost another local cyclist, Carol Raadgever, and this prompted me to organise a Ride Of Silence.”
Other cyclists lost on the road who will be remembered include Butch Menz, Ben Henderson and Phil Harris.
“We ride to remember and we ride to remind everyone that we are all on the road together and need to share it,” Peter said.
“Black armbands are worn to remember others, red armbands if you have been hit yourself. And everyone is welcome to join us on this ride.”
