Wagga marks Sorry Day

26 May, 2010 01:52 PM
CUTOUTS of hands will be placed around the base of a flagpole today when Wagga marks the anniversary of National Sorry Day.

Wiradjuri Elders and Wagga City Councillors will attend the flag raising ceremony along with students from Mount Austin High School and Wiradjuri Childcare Centre.

National Sorry Day has been held since 1998 to express regret over the historical mistreatment of Aboriginal people.

The event will be held from 10.30am in the Civic Centre forecourt.
