THERE will be plenty of kings and queens, but who will
reign at the Riverina One-Day Chess Championship tomorrow?
More than 70 teams from primary schools throughout the district will converge on Sturt Public School in Wagga for the event.
Hayden Brown (pictured) has been playing chess for four years and will be among the more experienced competitors in the two teams representing Ashmont Public.
“My dad Wayne taught me how to play when I was six,” the year five student said.
“I enjoy chess because you have to use your mind and I love to be challenged.”
